Description
A delicate white lotus flower takes centre stage, its petals gently unfurling against a soft background. The flower's intricate details are meticulously depicted, showcasing the artist's craftsmanship. A kingfisher perches nearby, contrasting beautifully with the lotus flower and adding a sense of vitality. The painting evokes tranquillity and peace, with soft, muted colours and gentle brushstrokes creating a harmonious and serene atmosphere. The juxtaposition of the delicate bird and the majestic lotus flower symbolizes the harmonious coexistence of nature.
Lee Han Huei, a graduate of the Central Academy of Art in Kuala Lumpur, was known for his abstract paintings inspired by flowers and plants. His vibrant colours, expressive brushstrokes, and focus on capturing the essence of his subjects characterized his work. He exhibited both locally and internationally. After establishing himself as an artist in Beijing, Lee returned to his hometown, Bukit Mertajam to be with his family following a cancer diagnosis. Sadly, he passed away on the same evening his charity exhibition closed on November 26, 2017.
