Description The "River Series" beautifully captures the essence of kampung (village) life and the joyful innocence of childhood, portraying children delighting in the simple pleasures of playing in a river. This scene reflects a sense of closeness and carefree fun, drawing inspiration from Chua's own childhood experiences in Kedah. His style masterfully evokes warmth, tranquility, and nostalgia, highlighting the fleeting, intimate moments of life.

Calvin Chua has dedicated his career to exploring the daily lives of his community and nature through watercolor, oil, acrylic, and ink. Since graduating from Kuala Lumpur College of Art in 1982, he's exhibited internationally and won awards like the Young Contemporary Award and Yayasan Seni Selangor Award. His works are collected by renowned institutions and featured in solo exhibitions like "Dancing Hues of an Untold Tale."
