Artist A.B. Ibrahim
b. Kedah, 1925 - 1977
Description A.B. Ibrahim's painting depicts a fleet of Malayan Seafaring Junks sailing across a vast ocean. The junks, characterized by their distinctive lateen sails, are silhouetted against the warm hues of the sky.

A.B. Ibrahim, a self-taught artist and founding member of the Persatuan Pelukis Melayu, Malaya, was a pioneer of Malaysian art. He exhibited his work in solo and group shows, including at Dewan Besar Perniagaan Cina, Ipoh, and the Penang Trade Fair. Ibrahim's contributions to the development of Malaysian art solidified his position as a respected figure. His work can be found in prominent public collections, including the National Art Gallery and Kedah State Art Gallery.
