Description Eng Tay's Joy of Living III depicts a lively scene with stylized figures. One figure stretches exuberantly, while another relaxes curled up. A striped cloth in the background adds a playful touch with two faces peeking over. The muted colors and minimalist style focus on the expressive figures, emphasizing their contentment, echoing the title's message of simple joys.

Eng Tay, born in 1947 in Kedah, Malaysia, moved to New York City in 1968 to study graphic design, painting, and printmaking at the Arts Student League, School of Visual Arts, and Pratt Graphics Center. He worked in the graphic arts field until 1978, when he embarked on painting trips to South America and Indonesia, which inspired his artistic subject matter.
