Description In Ikan Bilis (which translates to Anchovies in English), Tang Hong Lee's signature use of vibrant colours and intricate composition evokes a sense of movement, as the ikan bilis appear to swim in coordinated patterns in the top right corner of the painting. The interplay of colours flows effortlessly with loose, expressive brushstrokes and gestural marks, creating a dynamic composition that feels both alive and fluid.

Tang Hong Lee is a printmaker who graduated with a Bachelor of Arts (Visual Art) from the Canberra Institute of Arts in 1990 and a Diploma in Art from Kuala Lumpur College of Art in 1986. He has received awards and honours, including the Incentive Award in the Galeri Shah Alam Open exhibition in 2000 and an Honourable Mention in the 1999 Philip Morris Asean Art Awards. His notable solo exhibitions include "Rhythm Of Colours" at Momentous Gallery in Singapore, "Merry KL" (2022), "Colours" (2021), "Hope" (2018), and "Spectacles Of Nature" (2016) at Pinkguy Gallery and Momentous Arts Singapore.
