Description Lui Cheng Thak's "Street View" is a warm, nostalgic painting that captures a quiet moment outside a traditional two-story shophouse. The building's weathered walls and tiled roof exude old-world charm, while a parked trishaw and a man engrossed in a newspaper add a touch of daily life. The open upstairs window, with its hanging birdcage and potted plants, brings the scene to life, evoking a sense of peace and tranquility. This painting celebrates the quiet beauty of everyday life.

Cheng Thak has been a full-time artist since graduating from Kuala Lumpur College of Art in 1989. He's known for showcasing architectural heritage and disappearing trades in his lush and romantic style. Notable exhibitions include "As I Was Passing" in 1997 at Hotel Istana, Kuala Lumpur, and recent shows like "Jalan-Jalan 2" at PinkGuy Gallery in 2022, followed by "Festive Seasons" at the same gallery in 2023. His works are held in collections of corporations, hotels, and private collectors.
