Description This set of four paintings by Malaysian-based artist Jean Francois Jadin features the classic playing card symbols: spade, diamond, heart, and club. Each symbol is rendered with bold strokes and textures, created through the use of palette knives, allowing the artist's emotions to flow onto the canvas. The spade and club are painted in cool, dark hues, while the diamond and heart are depicted in warmer tones. The thick, impasto technique gives the symbols a rough, textured surface, with the layered colours adding visual richness to the composition.
