Description Loo Hooi Nam's palette knife dances across the canvas in An Old Lane Prangi Road, creating a thick impasto that captures the essence of the historic Penang street. His impressionistic style infuses the scene with vibrant energy, hinting at the diverse characters who have walked its path for generations.

Loo Hooi Nam is a self-taught artist born in Kedah, Malaysia in 1965. Despite no formal training, his talent shone through. He's achieved recognition not only through solo exhibitions at prestigious venues like the Penang State Art Gallery in 2011, but also through competition wins. In 2001, he took home the Gold Award at the SP Setia Art Fair Penang. His artistic journey has also been marked by multiple awards at the Pesta Pulau Pinang throughout the 1990s.
